The Interchange

The Interchange - A place between life and death, the exchange between worlds. This environment takes place in a decrepit cathedral that serves as an interchange between the living and the dead with both these elements visible from the skeletons left behind, to the urns dotted around and even the sacrificial candles used to light the scene.

Final/After Thoughts 

I was really happy with how this project turned out I just wished I could look more into RGB masking as I think it would have added a sense of uniqueness to all the objects that use trim sheets and it would have added to the derelict feeling. One major area of weakness for me going into this project was lighting and colour grading, originally the scene was going to more blue vs orange in terms of lighting but after feedback I received from my lecturers and peers at university I decided to use green to contrast the orange and use the blue sky to contrast the moon as this was one of the main parts inside of the concept art. I also wished I use more tools in engine as since working on this I have begun to start creating tools inside of the unreal engine to help assist with art in the editor and this has made my workflow more efficient. 

Other than that I am happy with the workflow I chose for this project as using trim sheets lent itself to creating assets in an efficient manner and when time is limited it helped a lot.
